How to delete your VRET data

Last updated: 28 September 2026

Your clinic is the controller of your clinical data; VRET processes it on the clinic's instructions, as processor.

Three ways to delete your data, in this order

1. In the app: Settings → “Delete data from this phone”

What it does: it erases the copy stored on your phone, including records not yet synced, and unlinks this phone from your clinic if you are online at that moment.

What it does not do: it does not by itself delete the record your clinic holds. After confirming, you will need a new code from your clinic to sign in again.

2. Ask your clinic

Your clinic is the controller of your clinical data and can delete it from its dashboard.

3. Email [email protected]

Email [email protected] naming your clinic. Do not send health information by email. We forward your request to your clinic and reply within one month at the latest.

What is deleted

When your clinic performs a full deletion from its dashboard, your virtual reality sessions, biofeedback data, patient app data (answers, ratings and playback records) and associated files are deleted.

What is kept, and why

An audit log of the operation is kept for security, along with a record that the operation took place, without a patient identifier.

Healthcare regulation may require your clinic to retain the clinical record for a defined period, even after you request deletion.

Timelines

  • Local copy on the phone and unlinking: on confirming in the app, if you are online at that moment.
  • Access from an offline phone after a revocation or deletion: a maximum of 48 hours.
  • Records pending sync on an offline phone: removed after 7 days at the latest.
  • Backups: the approved target is for them to disappear within a maximum of 37 days; this is not yet verified or guaranteed.
  • Reply to your emailed request: one month at the latest (GDPR Art. 12(3)), extendable under the regulation where applicable.

For clinics

Deletion is done from the dashboard, for any patient: in Patients → “Patient rights”, look up their code and press “Delete data…” (from the patient record, “Rights and clinical corrections” opens that same page). If the patient uses the mobile app, also from their record → More options → “Delete data…”. Two scopes can be chosen: only the patient's mobile app data, or all of their data (VR sessions, biofeedback, mobile app and files).
